Her Campus FSU
Organization: Her Campus is a national female run student-run digital publication. FSU’s chapter of Her Campus is a pink level chapter, which is the highest level a chapter can be.
Situation: I went into college interested in becoming a journalist and was hungry to get published. I leapt at the opportunity to join Her Campus as soon as possible by becoming a writer from fall 2017 to fall 2018 and was an editor in spring 2019.
Impact: Her Campus helped me hone in on my voice, brainstorm interesting topics, gain a better understanding of content production, become a better editor, and gain a sense of responsibility with weekly deadlines. As a writer, I was responsible for writing one article a week and as an editor, I was responsible for editing four articles a week. Working with driven women who shared my common interests for writing helped me find valuable role models and create a network that I would use through out the rest of my college career and beyond.
