Delta Zeta

Organization: Delta Zeta is a national sorority founded in 1902 and I was a member for four years at the Alpha Sigma chapter.

Situation: After being involved with several different committees in the sorority and being vocal about my passion for the communications field, I successfully ran for our Executive Board for the Communications Chair position. For my position, I oversaw our Instagram, our website, promoted our philanthropy, worked on outreach for recruitment, and internal communication as well as weighed in on other exec discussions. During the first three months of my term, the pandemic hit which halted many functions of the organization.

Impact: Myself and the executive board evolved to work remotely and fulfill our duties to the best of our abilities. One of the biggest responsibilities under my position was creating a recruitment video, which became even more important that year as the Panhellenic association decided to have round one of recruitment to asynchronous and have the potential new members decide on their sororities based solely on recruitment video. Our timeline for shooting the recruitment video went askew due to the pandemic and I had to come up with an entirely new creative direction. I edited the video, sourced the content, and wrote the script entirely by myself and we had one of the best round one retention rates that year.
